NEW SINGLE "CANDY" (2009.09.23)

Hey guys i couldn't contain my curiosity so i asked my cousin who actually stayed in Yemen for one year and has been learning Arabic since young. Haha. The following is his reply:

it actually means "happy chance"..... but people use it as "nice to meet you" you get me????

I kind of get what he mean but have asked him to elaborate more on it. Waiting for his reply on facebook.

Interesting. I'd guess "happy chance / best wishes" should be the literal meaning (as in, translated word by word) and the real meaning must be "nice to meet you".

Yes you are right, "happy chance" is the literal meaning. Below is the elaboration that i managed to force out from my dear cousin. LOL!!!

happy chance is actually when you translate arabic word by word... and you actually can't do that..... if you do that, you will get wrong answers.....

Now I get it. So it's like you're way of greeting a person when you meet them, particularly strangers. It doesnt have a direct translation in English but it sure does mean something to express how happy you are to meet him. It's a gesture of hospitality probably among arabic people.

The candy is like a copy of Bjork's Volta dress. Colorfully bloody awful.

I'd guess (or hope, lol) so. I mean, with all those 3 songs we know -with 2 of them being tied up to promote a movie and an a TV program around late october- I guess he will probably release a new single around late october/early november. Dunno, maybe they could be planning to release two "consecutive" singles and then release a new album around late December/January. That would be great! But probably expecting a new album around mid-2010 (and then, a new tour) would be a more likely path for him...

Yeah I realise that Ken usually tends to tour during the summer so chances of getting a new album will not be anytime soon

don't get me started on the promo pic too & I thought side permed hairdo on KAT-TUN's Kamenashi Kazuya last Nov - May when he went for it was BAD

Anyone has a sharp eye here or fashion conscious? What's the made of his bracelet in the promo pic? It's not Martin Margiela, Alexander McQueen, nor Ugo Cacciatori or Emanuele Bicocchi... There ain't too many popular good manly jewelry makers?

I think I kinda like the cover and the promo pic. I love ken's new look.... so cool and refreshing!!!! I want that bracelet! Jejeje!!!

"CANDY" PV is scheduled to air on 9/14. The director has worked with Ken before for "By(e) My Melody" and it's also the same director of Namie Amuro's "Do Me More", "ROCK STEADY" and "WILD"... so I wonder how the PV will be like!

According to this "Furusa Saiida" is an exotic song with an arabic melody, and "Do it!!" is a sexy R&B number. Looking forward to "Do it!!" the most now : )

I don't mind the old Ken that we use to have... I don't mind if you don't change your hairstyle at all from Sentimentalovers, I don't mind if the cover all the albums/singles are dull like Sentimentalovers.... So... Ken... don't give your fans heart attacks and disappointment over your new hairstyles and cover that doesn't suit your look (mature, cool, serious).... @_@ better cover in new single pls... thanks!

Hmm i don't know what to say... I don't like his look... and from the screencaps, gives me the impression that its a sexy-kind of PV which is actually not my taste. Just like how 'fake star's' PV somehow spoiled the song for me. So really hope my first impression of it is wrong.

I really love CANDY, so I hope that the PV won't spoil it for me *crosses fingers*
