Ken Hirai's 7th album it's entitled FAKIN' POP and will be released on March 12th. The album will include all his singles from POP STAR for a total of 13 songs.

歌手の平井堅（３６）が、２０日に発売する新シングル「キャンバス」のミュージックビデオを母校の横浜市立大学で撮影した。１０年ぶりに母校を訪問。実際に授業を受けていた教室で撮影を行った時には、エキストラの学生から拍手で出迎えられ照れた笑顔を浮かべていたという。同曲を収録した約３年半ぶりのニューアルバム「ＦＡＫＩＮ’ＰＯＰ」は３月１２日に発売される

The PV of Hirai Ken"s (36) newest song "Canvas" was shot in his former university at Yokohama City University. He has not visited his old school for 10 years, and current students greeting him with appluases and smiling faces as he was shooting the PV.

The song will be included in his upcoming album to be released in March called "FAKIN' POP"

If the album will include all his singles, than it will be POP STAR, by(e) My Melody, Elegy, Kimi no Suki na Toko, fake star, Canvas & Kimi wa Suteki, then........? Only 7 songs. How bout the remaining 6 songs? Any idea bout the remaining 6?

The cover is kinda unusual and fancy...THe album title too is kinda weird to me. I don't like it much...Sounds corny to me....
I'm more into its content. I'm sure the songs inside will kick some ass... Can't wait the album to become a monster hit selling like hotcakes in its first week of release.
I wonder how can I grab a copy of the album on this part of the planet (Philippines).. LOL!!!. Oh well, if there's a will there's a way as some say...

The CD looks amazing~! I love the tracks that are going to be on it~....
Ill pre ordering now!!!!
But one thing I am disappointed is that theres only 13 songs and half of them we already have heard....
Still amazing though!!!

Thanks for the translation Marcus; i never knew/cared about his past because i love his voice & attitude/passion in his music. Out of curiosity, what did he study?!

Problem with releasing so many singles before the album is that it makes the release of the album less exciting. It's almost a collection of old works compiled. It might be for marketing sake but it's not as anticipated for fans (ie ME)...

Nevertheless, i'll buy the CD/DVD as soon as it is released. He's like a drug to me, sweet poison.
